A few simple tips can help you make bedtime a soothing, peaceful experience for everyone. The more sleep baby gets, the more sleep you’ll get so while it may seem overwhelming at first, it’s important to get into a routine as soon as possible.
Babies have small tummies and they need to eat more frequently than adults so until baby grows a little, it’s likely going to mean at least one middle of the night feeding. Even though it seems baby will never sleep through the night, he will. It just takes time.
In the first few months of life, breastmilk or formula is the only food baby needs. Be sure to talk to your pediatrician or health professional before introducing new foods into baby’s diet. So while it’s frustrating to get up every night to nurse or prepare a bottle, don’t rush baby into solid foods too soon.
