Sleep Baby, Sleep Series: Tip #6, Blackout

Some babies are very sensitive to light. If your baby isn’t sleeping well, try placing blackout or light blocking curtains over the windows in the nursery.

This can help both at night, when street lights or the moon may be stimulating baby and also at naptime. By making the room as dark as possible, baby may sleep later in the morning since the sun won’t wake him.

The darker the room, the better your baby will sleep. Consider putting them in your room, too. It will help you sleep better at night, too.

These window covering and shades come in a variety of colors and styles. They’re available online and at local retailers. Cost will depend on size, manufacturer and style.
